What to Expect at Your First Appointment

Your first appointment is a conversation and an exam that gives your physician what's needed to plan your care.

1. You'll meet with a physician, who reviews your medical history with a focus on your veins and any treatment you've had before.
2. Your physician examines your legs. In most cases, you don't need to bring records from earlier treatment.
3. Most patients then have a diagnostic venous ultrasound, a detailed look at the veins deep in your leg and the ones close to the skin. It shows whether blood is flowing backward through weak vein valves, a problem called venous reflux, and it helps your physician map your treatment.
4. Your physician reviews the results with you and builds a personalized treatment plan. Treatments are outpatient, and most patients return home the same day.

• A list of your current medications, including doses

Meet Your Physicians

Who You'll See at the Center

Both physicians treat vein disease, and each brings a different specialty.

• Brandon Repko, MD, is a board-certified interventional radiologist, which is a doctor who uses imaging to guide minimally invasive treatments. He also performs embolization, a procedure that blocks the blood supply feeding a problem area, for hemorrhoids, uterine fibroids and an enlarged prostate.
• Philip Georgevich, MD, is a board-certified vascular surgeon who treats diseases of the veins and blood vessels, including varicose veins. He also performs cosmetic sclerotherapy.
